John H. Farthing has been engaged in the practice of law for over 40 years. After high school in Lincoln, Illinois, he obtained his undergraduate degree from the University Of Illinois and upon graduation, John entered the corporate world as labor specialist for Owens-Illinois, Inc. He was transferred from corporate headquarters to the Circleville Forest Products Plant in 1968. As a beneficiary of an Owens-Illinois sponsored education plan, he attended Capital University Law School, while employed full-time, and graduated in 1973.
During the course of his practice, from 1973 to present, John has provided general legal services through legal associations with other local attorneys and as a sole practitioner. He has represented clients in many litigation matters before State and Federal Courts throughout Ohio. In addition to being admitted to practice in all State Courts in Ohio, John is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and the U.S. Supreme Court.
John believes in community service and has been fortunate to serve as a member of the Board of Directors for Berger Health System, City of Circleville Board of Education, Pickaway County YMCA, and South Central Speech and Hearing Center. He has also participated in numerous civic associations and activities.
John and his wife, Nancy, reside in Circleville, have four children and enjoy attending countless athletic and other extracurricular activities of their grandchildren.
